Elite National Security Service

For the last 15 years of his Navy career, Ryan served as a Nuclear Command and Control Flight Engineer on the E-6B Mercury — known as the "Doomsday Plane" — one of the most critical and classified missions in the United States military.

The E-6B Mercury is the airborne link between the President of the United States and America's nuclear forces. If nuclear war begins, this aircraft ensures the President can command the nuclear triad even if ground-based command centers are destroyed.

Only the most trusted and competent personnel are selected for this critical national security role. The fact that Ryan was chosen — and excelled for 15 years — speaks volumes about his judgment, leadership, and ability to handle pressure.

  • Managed over 300 Sailors across multiple operational areas
  • Executed a $3.2 billion budget with absolute precision
  • Ensured secure communication between the President and Nuclear Missile Triad
  • Required the highest security clearances in the U.S. military
  • Selected based on competence, trustworthiness, and proven leadership
"Petty Officer Intchauspe demonstrated unsurpassed leadership during E-6B deployment... His superior effort ensured timely replacement and operational readiness was instrumental in returning alert asset to duty." — Commanding Officer
Combat Search and Rescue Swimmer

Combat Search and Rescue Swimmer

Ryan enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 19 and began his career as a Combat Search and Rescue Swimmer — one of the most physically and mentally demanding specialties in the military.

Rescue swimmers jump from helicopters into hostile waters to save lives under the most dangerous conditions imaginable.

1998: Ryan's detachment rescued 34 victims from a maritime tragedy in the Gulf of Oman, providing dignified burial and demonstrating extraordinary devotion to duty.

As his career progressed, Ryan advanced to Helicopter Crew Chief and Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor, training the next generation of naval aircrewmen with the same excellence he demanded of himself.

  • Trained thousands of sailors over his career
  • 277 Fleet Replacement Squadron student graduations
  • Created E-6B Flight Engineer training curriculum still used today
  • 100% student safety record
  • 2008 Sailor of the Year – VQ3
  • 2008 Sailor of the Year – Strategic Communications Wing 1
  • Rose from E-1 to Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) — achieved by fewer than 2–3% of enlisted sailors
Combat Veteran: Operation Iraqi Freedom

Combat Veteran: Operation Iraqi Freedom

2007: Ryan flew 20+ combat missions over Iraq as an E-6B Flight Engineer during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

The President of the United States awarded him the Air Medal for "meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight" in combat conditions.

Citation excerpt: "His mission focus, dedication and flying abilities helped to ensure victory in the skies and on the ground during hazardous flying conditions."

Ryan knows what it means to serve under pressure. He knows what accountability looks like when lives are on the line.
